What does your child learn at school each day and over time?

“Our core purpose is to ensure our pupils
acquire the skills and attributes to love
learning, be caring towards each other and
be happy and fulfilled.”

At Orston, we are absolutely determined to teach a rich, broad and balanced curriculum and is underpinned by our vision, aims and values. We strive to balance the importance of ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential in Maths, Reading, Writing, Spelling and Grammar but in addition, we have designed our curriculum to help our pupils develop and achieve in all aspects of their education including the arts and humanities, scientific, technical and linguistic subjects and of course, each pupil's personal, social and physical skills. Our curriculum is designed to have clear progression in subject knowledge and skills and is filled with rich first-hand purposeful experiences; encourages the use of environments and expertise beyond the classroom and makes meaningful links between areas of knowledge across the curriculum as well as some of the major issues of our time. Has a local, national and international dimension.

We want our curriculum to inspire all of our pupils to learn and love learning and as our school aims suggest, we want pupils to thrive and develop passions and talents.
