• Orston end Elston's unbeaten run with a stunning victory!

  Orston's footballers came back with an excellent 4-3 away win at previously unbeaten Elston on Thursday night. After going a goal behind, Orston showed great character to go 2-1 up courtesy of Jacob and Jack. However, just before half time Elston levelled the scores with a header that just crept over the line. In the second half Orston started very strongly and put Elston on the back foot straight away. Wonder goals from Jack and Alexander put Orston back in control before Elston pulled one back to set up a very tense finish to the game. Orston's defence held firm and were marshalled well by captain Harry to ensure the points returned back to Church Street. Well done to all the Year 6's in what will be their last game for the school before they move to pastures new. They were fabulous ambassadors for the school and ended their season on a high!

   

  

• Year 4 have adopted a Halle orchestra violinist for the day! They are spending the day creating music as a class orchestra. More details and photos to follow

• We welcomed Y8 Toothill students into school this morning to teach a French lesson to our older pupils. They did a stunning job! Great to see Emily (past Orston pupil) Merci beaucoup, c'etait super!

• London Day was a huge success for Acorns, Foundation and Year 1! We danced like royalty, had a banquet like kings and queens, visited the sights and finally we set fire to our box model houses just like the Great Fire of London!

  Congratulations to the children who entered the Young Writers Spooky Sagas competition at the start of the year! Ten of our talented writers have had their short stories published and picked up their copies on Friday. Well done to those that entered and look out JK Rowling! 

  

• Orston Spring Dash

  Sunday, 12th May is the Orston Spring Dash. It would be great to see as many Orston pupils take part as possible. The event starts at 10am - the 2k Family Fun Run starts once the 10k Run is underway.
