  • Orston Mental Health Awareness Week - 3rd- 7th February 2020

    Sun 09 Feb 2020
Pupils across the school took part in a mental health awareness week to help develop an understanding of how to maintain a positive mindset when dealing with day to day challenges and difficult challenges in life. We learnt that there are many different ways to keep and enhance your mental health including physical exercise, drawing and colouring, communing with nature, spending time with pets and taking time out to reflect. As a school, there were dedicated PSHE sessions alongside dance sessions, boxercise sessions, art lessons focused on still life and even a whole school hike around Orston!
  • Winter Hike

    Fri 07 Feb 2020
On Friday afternoon the whole school set off on a hike around some of the public footpaths in Orston. This was the second of three hikes this year to continue to promote physical activity for wellbeing; getting children to experience different types of physical exercise and observing the countryside in different seasons.

Years 2 - 6 hiked approx. 2.4 miles. Foundation and Year 1 walked for a mile down to the River Smite and back.

We had a lot of fun walking and playing in the mud. We are already looking forward to our Summer hike.
