Welcome to Year 1, Windsor Class

This year in Windsor Class children will have three teachers teaching them. Mrs Morgan will teach Monday and Tuesday, Miss Wrench on Wednesday and Mrs Raine on Thursday and Friday.  We are all very excited for a wonderful year with your children and cannot wait to get started! Reading Records

The reading records are to help children develop a habit of reading. The children will bring home a levelled book from school that is in-line with our phonics scheme and also a ‘reading for pleasure’ book that is appropriate for their reading level. The levelled books from school are useful to track progress of children’s reading fluency and comprehension. We are aiming for each child to read at home with an adult at least four times each week – please record this in the reading diary. Book changing days are a Monday and a Thursday.

PE and Forest School

For the Autumn term, Year One children will have PE on a Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure your children are sent to school in their PE kit on this day. Please also ensure all PE kit is named.

Year One will take part in forest school sessions on a Thursday afternoon. Children can come to school in their forest school clothes. Please ensure they are dressed appropriately for the weather and have suitable footwear.
