Following on from the trips and residential survey that was undertaken in the Summer Term 2021, we are delighted to share our updated arrangements for residential trips at Orston.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey, your responses have helped to shape our offer.

Having carefully considered your responses and taking into account the affordability of residential trips, we have made some changes compared to previous arrangements.

Year 2

The children hike through Orston and along local footpaths to the Magpie’s Nest at Elton. At the camp children take part in outdoor art and Forest School activities with an evening campfire and overnight camp.

Years 3 and 4

This will be on a two year cycle which will include an overnight stay at The Deep in Hull in Cycle One and an onsite camp at school during Cycle Two. All children will get the opportunity to experience both of these in either Year 3 or Year 4.

2021-2022              Year 3 & 4 Overnight stay at The Deep.

2022-2023              Year 3 & 4 Onsite Camp at Orston.

2023-2024              Year 3 & 4 Overnight stay at The Deep.

The Deep promises to be a wonderful adventure where children will spend the night sleeping alongside amazing marine life including magnificent sharks and stingrays, a pair of Loggerhead sea turtles, mesmerising jellyfish and colourful tropical fish!

Our onsite camp for the alternate year will feature an orienteering treasure hunt, toasting marshmallows on the fire and a movie night in the school hall.

Year 6

Two night residential to Hagg Farm in Derbyshire – The children get the opportunity to test themselves physically and mentally working in teams to take part in adventurous activities such as abseiling, rock climbing and bush walking with trained instructors. It is a wonderful opportunity for the children in their final year at primary school to create lasting memories.
