Welcome to Year 1

Children in Year 1 will have two teachers this year. Mrs Morgan will be teaching on a Monday and a Tuesday, Mrs Turton will teach on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Mrs Morgan will be returning from maternity leave later on this year so in the meantime, Mrs Forbes will be teaching on a Monday and Tuesday. Also supporting the children this year will be Mrs Raines and Mrs Hickling. 

Reading Records

The reading records are to help children develop a habit of reading. The children will bring home a levelled book from school that is in-line with our phonics scheme and also a ‘reading for pleasure’ book that is appropriate for their reading level. The levelled books from school are useful to track progress of children's reading fluency and comprehension. We are aiming for each child to read at home with an adult at least four times each week - please record this in the reading diary.

Physical Education
For Autumn Term 1, Year 1's will have PE on a Friday morning. Children can wear their PE kit to school on this day.

Forest School

For Autumn Term 1, Forest School sessions will take place on a Tuesday afternoon. Children can wear their Forest School clothing to school on this day.
