Year 1

Welcome to Year 1 2024/2025

We are Windsor Class and we cannot wait to share our learning 👑

Welcome to Year 1

Children in Year 1 will have two teachers this year. Mrs Morgan will be teaching on a Monday and a Tuesday, Mrs Crosby will teach on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Reading Records

The reading records are to help children develop a habit of reading. The children will bring home a levelled book from school that is in-line with our phonics scheme and also a ‘reading for pleasure’ book that is appropriate for their reading level. The levelled books from school are useful to track progress of children's reading fluency and comprehension. We are aiming for each child to read at home with an adult at least four times each week - please record this in the reading diary.

Physical Education
Year 1 have PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Children can wear their PE kit to school on this day.

Forest School

Forest School sessions will start later on in the term, more information will be sent home at a later date.

We are so excited for the year ahead! If you do have any queries or concerns please do catch us on the school playground or contact the school office.

Best wishes,

Mrs Morgan and Mrs Crosby
